Walking with Robots Launch Event

Possible the largest gathering of humans and robots will take place at the Walking with Robots launch event. All the network members will be present, and each researcher has to bring a friend but it can't be a human. Guests at the reception include senior government representatives, funding council members, robotics experts, industry representatives, the media and of course a few robot friends, who will be allowed as much electricity as they can handle.

Thinktank, in partnership with the Bristol Robotics Laboratory, kick off this leg of the national roll out of this interactive dialogue event, designed to challenge and stimulate public thinking about the latest developments in robotics.

FIRST LEGO League South West Tournament

First Lego League is an international programme for children aged between 9 and 16 years that combines a hands-on, interactive robotics program with a sports-like atmosphere using the LEGO MINDSTORMS Robotics Invention System. Thirty-two primary school teams participating in the South West Tournament. Tuesday 28th saw a similar number of secondary school teams compete for their place in the finals.

FIRST LEGO League Milton Keynes Tournament

First Lego League is an international programme for children aged between 9 and 16 years that combines a hands-on, interactive robotics program with a sports-like atmosphere using the LEGO MINDSTORMS Robotics Invention System.

About twenty teams will be participating from schools in Milton Keynes, Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire and Northamptonshire.
