Theme 1: First steps
Robots are not just science fiction; they are real, and often people have misconceived ideas about them.
The early part of the project themed 'First steps', runs from November 2006 to April 2007, and is about increasing public awareness about robots and the current research in intelligent robotics.
First steps is about laying the foundations of the project, consolidating current public engagement activities, making sure robotics labs are aware of the resources available to them, providing training and making sure the science communication community are aware of the willing roboticists eager to share their expertise.
This theme will end with the second Walking with Robots Network meeting to be held in London on April 24th, 2007.
